God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another — 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)
Peter reminds believers that every Christian has been entrusted with spiritual gifts. These are not given for personal pride or recognition but to build up the Body of Christ. God, in His grace, equips each of us differently so that together we reflect His love and advance His Kingdom.
Serving others is not optional—it is a response to the grace we’ve received. Jesus Himself set the example when He came not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45).
Reflection
Your gift—whether it’s teaching, encouraging, helping, giving, or showing hospitality—has purpose. When you serve others in love, you make Christ visible. True greatness in God’s Kingdom is found not in status but in humility and service.
Serving may not always be easy, and it often requires sacrifice, but it always bears eternal fruit. When done in love, even the smallest act of service becomes worship unto God.
Ask yourself: Am I using my gifts for myself, or to glorify God and bless others?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gifts You have given me. Teach me to use them faithfully and lovingly to serve others. Help me to walk in humility, reflecting Jesus in every act of service. May my life glorify You and build up Your Kingdom. Amen
