Growing in Christ 🌱 Day 17 : Shining for Christ

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.— Matthew 5:16 (NLT)

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus calls His followers to be the “light of the world.” Light reveals, guides, and pushes back darkness. As believers, our lives are meant to reflect Christ so that others are drawn to Him—not to glorify ourselves, but to glorify the Father.

Good deeds here are not about earning salvation but flowing out of a transformed heart. When Christ is in us, His light naturally shines through our actions, words, and attitudes.

Reflection

Your life is a testimony. Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, every choice to live with integrity points people to Jesus. You may never know who is watching, but your light could be the hope someone needs in their darkness.

Shining for Christ doesn’t always mean doing big, noticeable things. Often, it’s in the small daily acts of love and faithfulness that His light shines the brightest.

Does my life reflect Christ’s light? Do my actions point others to Him or to myself

Prayer

Lord, help me to be a light in this world. May my actions, words, and life reflect Your love and truth. Use me to draw others closer to You, that they may glorify our Heavenly Father. Amen.
